Week Of April 3rd
This week our film group was unable to film due to lack of attendance, however in class we were able to finalize two film ideas. One of the ideas is for a PSA and another is for a music video. One of the films, the PSA already has its storyboards done. The second film (music video) has almost all the storyboards completed. This weekend we are filming the PSA and we should be started on editing next week.

Week of March 27
My film group includes Nereida, Stefani, Sergio, Salvador and Andrea. This week we accomplished finishing out storyboards for two films, and deciding which days we are all available for filming. We also decided that we would do our PSA video first, since it was the most developed of our ideas. Another thing we accomplished this week was finalizing the order of the films we were going to make and figuring out what equipment and other resources we were going to need to make our film possible. In addition we also decided on a photo for our production folder. Overall we established our ideas, finalized schedules, and reorganized our group so that we can make all three films in an efficient and effective process.

What Music Means to Me
Music is everything. Music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Music has been my greatest friend, my most genuine inspiration and most importantly my best motivator. Growing up I remember that I always used to carry around a walkman (the kind that can play tapes and radio too) and no matter what was going on in my life around me i could always play a song and find happiness. As I grew older the songs that I listened to turned into memories and I could always recall exactly the way I felt or what places looked like that made me feel so strongly.
I remember the first time that I saw a band live for the first time. It was at a house show and although the band was not even famous, the music was felt in the air. Everyone in the crowd stood and swayed to the music. I couldn't get over the feeling of standing in a crowd and feeling like I connected with the instruments as well as the whole band. The next time that I went to a show it was for a bigger band in a bigger stage. My sister drove out to echo park after school and although we were late we were still able to make it hear the last couple of songs. It was like magic, it was nothing like listening to the music it was about being able to really feel the music. The way the instruments seem to fit together and flow amazed me completely.

Problems and Struggles
Many people say that middle school is the hardest stage in growing up, however I disagree because I believe that high school is the most difficult stage of becoming an adult. It is the stage in which students are treated like children but expected to act like adults. Where students are not allowed to decide what classes they want to take but are expected to know exactly what they want to do with the rest of their lives. High school is the stage that does not transition students into adults but instead merely pushes them into the real world. From all the people that I have spoken to that have already graduated from high school, particularly from an area of minorities, claim that they were robbed of an education. Those that moved on to college believe that they were not adequately prepared for the work load, or the intensity of the classes. The others that followed another path and are now working regret being uninformed about their choices following their graduation. The biggest problem here is that high school students in areas of minorities often feel too heavily the pressure of having to know exactly what they will be doing after high school is over and are simply not informed enough.

The Most Interesting Person in The World
The most interesting person I know is a friend of mine who is on a quest to find the most obscure places in downtown LA. Although I've only been to a couple of places that he has discovered, it has really opened my mind to all of the beauty hidden in the streets of late night Los Angeles. This all began with music, while he was looking for the locations of local bands that he was interested in. Then he began to look for coffee shops and book stores. It soon grew into more than that as he began to gain interest in famous movie locations, secret rooftop pools, and even abandoned buildings in the heart of LA. Whenever he has the time and has recently acquired the street names or even just hints of any place with potential interest he simply drives down to LA and spends the night exploring or searching. From all his adventures there is always something to find or see that will definitely change the way you look at the city forever. Knowing that the city is so alive and adventure so willing.

My Anti Drug
My Anti Drug is volleyball. Without volleyball I don't know where I'd be. When I first joined the team my freshman year it become everything to me. Sometimes I would go to school just because I would be able to play at the end of the day. On game days I actually made the effort to get up early and make it to school on time so that I could be eligible to play. Volleyball is my favorite distraction and it allowed me to make lifetime friends and create bonds with people I would have never spoken to otherwise. It has introduced me to an entire community of people that love the game as much as I do. Even after season was over my teammates and I would still search for open gyms and the opportunity to play again. As a result I was kept occupied for many hours of the day and even night time. In many ways volleyball is a drug to me because I don't believe I'll ever stop playing it and I certainly cannot live without it. Volleyball is life.

An Inconvenient Truth
Global warming has been an issue for as long as I can remember. Even in elementary school I remember teachers saying we would one day face the dangers of a world without the resources we depend on today, but the funny thing is my teachers are still telling us the same thing I've been warned about for the last 10-15 years. In An Inconvenient Truth I saw the realities that not only teachers but scientists and even politicians, like Al Gore, have been trying to convince the rest of the world. The fact that we're headed towards chaos is no secret however, no one seems to be worried, except for the world's greatest scientists and specialists of course. When I graduate high school I hope to someday travel and be able to see many of the species that will someday very soon be extinct. Among these creatures are the polar bears and arctic cats that many believe to be common but in reality are disappearing rapidly. I want my children to see these animals too, however the way things are going it seems very unlikely that we'll ever care enough to change. It wont be until our own species is endangered and decreasing rapidly that anyone will even begin to worry. When we think of the future we think of technology, flying cars, and bigger better homes. No one considers the dangerous reality we are facing when it comes to the planet.
