My Film Job
My ideal film job would be to be a screenwriter. I have many different ideas for a film and i believe i am a fairly good writer therefore this is the ideal job for me. When i first see a film i feel inspired to create something that can affect peoples perspective on everyday life in something as simple as a 3 or 4 minute film.

Conflict
Conflict. There is conflict in everyday life. A well known movie with conflict that i enjoyed is Daredevil, in which the main character struggles between trying to figure out who the villain of the city is and at the same time tries to live an ordinary life as a blind lawyer. Throughout the movies Daredevil is shown battling the evil of the city by night and by day trying to get through everyday life using his heightened senses other than sight.
In my life, a major conflict I have is trying to decide what I want to do with the rest of my life. I'm only seventeen and most of the time I cant decide on a favorite song how can I be expected to decide on a career that will define me for the rest of my life?
Film ideas resulting from conflict are pretty much everywhere in everyone. Conflict attracts a large audience because we are so often caught up in our own dramatic lives that a chance to experiences someone else's conflict provides a relief from our own.

Blog #9 My review of the Elephant Man
The Elephant Man:
This is one of the best movies I've seen. This movie signifies the never ending theme that people are judged based on appearances. It also reveals that the majority of people fear what they do not understand. One of the reasons I enjoyed this particular film is because John was abused, and neglected as a human being by strangers and yet he still manages to learn reading and writing and always hoped for a better future. I also admire John Merrick because he was always so sweet and easily satisfied even with those who abused him. The character of Frederick Treves was also very interesting because although at the beginning his intentions were not the purest, he was able to recognize this and quickly grew towards becoming a better person. This movie did a good job of showing how one person with a miserable past could touch and change so many people's lives for the better. John Merrick was able to make those around want to be the best kind of human beings they could possibly be.

My name is John Merrick....
Today my good friend Dr. Frederick Treves and the Mothershead gave me the splendid news that the London is now my permanent home. Isn't this news just wonderful? Dr. Frederick Treves even gave me my very own dressing case! I've never owned anything so beautiful before. It is my favorite possession yet. The London will be a great new home. I have a table and bed of my very own. I finally don't have to sleep on the floor and get pushed around by Mr. Bytes. I even have my very own model church that I'm building right here in my very own room. It looks just like the one outside my window! Just a few more days and it will finally be completed. How wonderful it feels to have finally have found home with such nice people. I never thought that I could actually find friends. With all the kindness that the generous people of this hospital offer me I think that I could just be happy in this place.

Welcome to my nightmare.........
Fear is very strange phenomenon. For centuries people have associated fear with darkness, witchcraft, vampires and werewolves. However, these are not the only types of fears in the world. When i was about six years old my father suggested that we watch movies and play video games so he rented the movies scream (not the funny version) and Grand Theft Auto (the first one) and told my sister and me we would watch the movie and then play. While watching the movie i did not find it scary or anything and when we played the game it was not particularly scary either. That night however i did have a nightmare and in my night mare i was the guy stealing the cars in Grand theft auto. What scared me however, was that every time i stepped out of the car a mob of people would surround me and everyone was shouting at the same time and i couldn't even see where i was going. So, i woke up. After waking up i did what any child would do and went to go find my father. When i entered his room i noticed that there was a candle lit in the room and when i looked at its reflection on the wall i noticed (to my horror) that it was the shape of a skull. After that i ran back to my room and played Super Mario Sunshine on the game cube until the sun came up and i could sleep again.

#6 Compassionate Science
In the field of science there a million different roads to follow. There's the road to fame, money, success, productivity, and helping others. In this world we only hear about the ones that have to do with fame and money like the newest cell phone or tablet. We seldom hear about how a new school has been opened in a third world country or how orphans have finally gained the opportunity to have at least one working computer. Science is a very extensive field and for the most part, the majority are not aware of even a fourth of what it can really do. Science is often looked to as only the problems is can create but what would happen if we really used it to its full potential? We could build flying cars, cure every disease known to man, we can even live on the moon if we really wanted to. After all, it's really only a matter of time. The problem is that either most people don't see science as a priority or they fail to recognize the many wonders that can be discovered if only someone would lead us to it. What this world needs is someone who genuinely cares about the future of this world and has the resources the exercise their ideas. This world lacks compassion.

The Future:
In the future (100 years) technology will become so much more advanced that books, pencils, and writing will become obliterated. People will no longer read books or write essays instead they will read tablets and type essays. Computers will become more than just devices used for work and study instead they will be used to monitor and track people. The government will use all this new technology as weapon for control and war with other countries. In the future the technology will be used to cure the incurable and preserve peoples minds so that they can be studied. Sooner or later people will be forced to find new sources of power when we use up all of the electricity we have now. Many people in the future will grow to be sick because of all chemicals and processed foods we consume. Cars will no longer be used for by that we will have already up all the gasoline available. So instead people will used planes powered by electricity or some other power source. Most people will not be allowed to go outside because our ozone layer will be so damaged that it will no longer protect us. The world will be a mess.

One Time I Laughed Really, Really Hard
There
is always something to laugh about in every volleyball practice. During my
junior year however, the funniest thing ever to happen in that gym happened.
Our coach was making us do a drill in which we were supposed to move our feet
as quickly as possible, so he would toss a ball close to where he was standing
then he would toss another as far away as possible and we were supposed to get
touches on both. It seemed easy enough so we all formed a line and started the
drill. When I finally became my friend Wendy’s turn none of us could prepare
for what was about to happen. As our coach threw the ball far off Wendy trips
and falls halfway to the ball. Then she starts to franticly crawl in the
direction in which the ball was thrown but she was sweaty so she kept struggling
to get up and falling back down. This goes on for about two minutes until she
finally realizes that the ball is already on the ground. By this point the
entire team is almost crying in laughter, coach included.
Thoughts on “Modern Times”
In
“Modern Times” directed and produced by Charlie Chaplin himself is a very
intriguing film. The fact that he foreshadows the future at the beginning of
his film show his thoughts on the hard times such as the fact that he believed
that men and machines did not agree. He also revealed that life, as a factory
worker was not an easy life, particularly during this time period because of
the strikes within the factory workers, the red scare and the tension between
the police and the people themselves. Throughout the movie Chaplin the factory
worker suffered many hardships and not once did he give up, at some point he
even revealed some of his aspirations, dreams, which were common among the
working class. Especially at the end when Chaplin advises the gamin to continue
to smile, he is advising the working class and lower classes to keep smiling no
matter what hardships they encounter.
What are your thoughts on bullying?
Bullying
is one of the most commonly argued topics throughout elementary, middle, and
even high school. But what does it really mean to be bullied? Most high school
students would swear they’ve never witnessed or experienced bullying. But what
exactly constitutes bullying? Often it is believed to be only name calling,
physical or emotional abuse and hazing. However, those are not the only actions
to be considered bullying. Bullying can be many things for example excluding
certain students and making jokes at their expense. The majority of students
probably wouldn’t even notice if they were being bullied because in this
generation it is considered normal. Just because students are no longer being
beat or stuffed into lockers like in the movies it does not necessarily mean
that bullying has ceased to exist. Bullying still lives on and in this
generation it lives through words.
Favorite Movie:
My favorite movie is Daredevil and it is similar to batman except the main character is a blind lawyer and the villain is a rich man who controls the crime of an entire city. This is my favorite movie because it was one of the first super hero movies that I ever saw. When I first saw this movie I was about 5 or 6 years old and it captured my attention during its first fighting scene, which took place while daredevil was still a civilian. One of the things that I found most interesting in this movie was the fact that “Daredevil” or Ben Affleck (who now plays Batman) did not grow up with money instead, he was raising in “hells kitchen” which is what the movie called the poor side of town. Another reason that this is my favorite movie is because it has a strong female lead (electra) and even though she dies at the end it shows that women do not always need men to come and rescue them. After that it was the only movie I ever wanted to see.
